For sisters Joci and Callie Luedemann, serving on St. Paul’s Tech Team in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings is far more than a technical task. It is a vital way they live out their faith.

Joci, 19, and Callie, 17, both stepped into the ministry through family footprints. Callie joined after watching her family serve, inspired to contribute her own time. “I just enjoy doing things to help others,” Callie says. Joci’s journey began with a family baton pass. "My brother was heading to college and trained me to take his place so the team wouldn't be shorthanded," Joci says. "I wanted a way to serve, so it was the perfect fit."

While much of the Tech Team’s work happens behind the scenes, Joci and Callie operate in a fast-paced environment where coordination is key. "There is so much happening at once with sound, streaming, and slides," Joci explains. "We all work together to make sure the service runs smoothly, no matter what.” Callie adds that one of the biggest unseen parts of the role is problem-solving before and during worship.

Beyond keeping the service on track, the role has fostered personal growth. Managing critical technical elements helped Joci build confidence. Both sisters emphasize that newcomers do not need technical expertise to join. The environment is highly supportive, and veteran team members patiently train anyone interested in worship production. “The experienced people on the Tech Team are very willing to teach you different jobs,” Callie says. “They are patient and make sure you feel comfortable in the role.” Joci agrees. "If you are curious, just ask someone on the team what it's like," she says. "It is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it."

Their shared dedication beautifully reflects St. Paul’s core value of Living Generously—allowing Christ’s love to compel them to give their time for His glory. Through their quiet, faithful work behind the scenes, Joci and Callie enhance the experience for everyone in the sanctuary.
